Chapter 11 - Ianora

Ianora was shaking all over when Castor guided her to the bedroom, his firm body making a point to brush up against her at every opportunity. His touch brushed against her arms, hips, and back, making tingles race through her whole body.

Her heart felt like a trapped bird in her chest, like it could explode at any moment, and she'd be left with an empty mess inside. It was the night itself that had left her feeling this way, not just the gentle insistence of Castor's restrained urgency until the moment he closed the door behind her.

Ever since freeing her from the coffin, it was as though something had changed in Castor. She was not here willingly, not by any means, but some of his jagged edges had smoothed over. Instead of being the cruel, angry man he had been for the week before the wedding, he was softer with her today. Kinder.

More like the man she'd fallen for all those years ago.

"Here," he murmured into her ear, his hot breath making her shiver. "Let me light a candle."

But Castor had always been good at wearing masks. He could have put that front up with the intent of misleading the wedding guests and lulling Ianora into a false sense of ease.

And it had worked. These gentle touches and looks were wreaking havoc on her insides, leaving her confused. Should her guard be up? Should she let it down? Was his cruel self going to return the moment she tried to give him the benefit of the doubt?

A spark flared, and instead of just lighting one candle, a hundred blazed to life, revealing a bedroom that was the image of romance: the candles covered every surface of the bedroom except for the floor and bed. The flickering light threw the room into a golden haze, the reflection dancing off the inside of the polished silver in the room. The furniture had been decorated with red and white roses, silver and gold bow ribbons, and red and white rose petals. Their fragrance filled the room, sweet with a hint of vanilla that, on one hand, set Ianora at ease because they were her favorites.

On the other hand, her stomach clenched with awareness, knowing that Castor had picked them on purpose for what would happen next. Trying to put her at ease to ... to ...

Before she could finish the thought, Castor's mouth was on her neck.

Ianora gasped as his lips found that sensitive spot behind her ear, soft but firm, while his strong hands slid up her body to cup her full breasts. She could feel the hard outline of his erection against her thigh, and she shivered with a desire she'd been suppressing for so long.

She couldn't give in to him so easily. Yet an ache grew inside her with each kiss, stroke, and caress. She relished the way his muscles flexed and moved under the gentle sweep of his fingers. She moaned softly as he kissed lower, then turned her around to face him.
